Not seen a topic on this one, but as with a lot of Super League clubs, Castleford have plans to move out of their current Wheldon Road home into a new stadium with the latest date being announced as 2010 (take that with a large pinch of salt).

At present it's at the very early stages, and depends largely on funding from the council (of which a decision will be announced in July/August), but designs have been released with it intended to have a capacity of 13,000 which includes 8000 seats. It will be part of a larger development at J32 of the M62, including the almost obligitory hotel. Devlopment cost of the whole project is estimated at £75m.

Looks kind of similar to the Brighton proposals, quite a good effort really, although I suspect dangerously teetering on the edge of being re-scaled into a Doncaster Keepmoat copy.
There's a ground if you want to go.

Reminds me a little bit of the Man Citys stadium and also a little bit of
Botlon's Reebok stadium Not to keen on it myself.

How near would it be to the retail complex and Glasshoughton Welfare's ground?
